Quinta Tango Orchestra
The Lake Tahoe Tango Festival is delighted to announce that Quinta Tango Orchestra will be playing on Friday night, May 21, at our Grand Opening Milonga and again on Monday, May 25, at our Farewell Milonga!
Quinta Tango Orchestra was born out of a love for tango music and dancing. They play the "Golden Age" tangos, milongas and valses from the 1930-s through 1950s, as well as "tango nuevo" pieces especially arranged for their group.
The Lake Tahoe Tango Festival is absolutely delighted to announce that the fabulous TRIO GARUFA will be playing on Saturday, May 23, both as part of the Tango Dinner Show AND at the Gala Milonga that night!
Trio Garufa is an international ensemble dedicated to performing authentic Argentine music. They have performed across Argentina, Colombia, Europe, Canada and the US at venues such as Yoshi’s Jazz Club, Chicago Symphony Hall, Teatro Leon de Greiff (Bogotá, Colombia) and La Viruta (the largest Tango club in Buenos Aires). Trio Garufa's repertoire includes Classic Argentine Tangos from the golden era, as well as Argentine Folklore Music, modern Tangos from Piazzolla, Electro-Tangos and original compositions. The Trio's music is exciting, virtuosic, and rooted in the dance. They have performed extensively in the Milongas (Tango dance clubs) of Buenos Aires. The group includes Guillermo García, guitar (Argentina) Adrian Jost, bandoneon (Switzerland) and Sascha Jacobsen, string bass (California).
Mariano Barreiro Tango Trio
The Lake Tahoe Tango Festival is delighted to announce that on Sunday, May 24, we will have the fantastic Mariano Barreiro Tango Trio playing both on the Twilight Cruise around Emerald Bay as well as at our Milonga that night!
Internationally acclaimed ensemble Mariano Barreiro Tango Trío presents the music of Astor Piazzolla and tango composers of Buenos Aires.
